[SOLVED] Missing PCI-E cable to power GPU

I just got ahold of a hold of a GTX 1080 with an 8 pin and 6 pin PCI-E connector. My old graphics card only had an 8 pin connector, and I do not have any extra PCI-E cables. Would a Y splitter be a good solution? or should I get another 6+2 PCI-E cable? In that case can anyone help me find extra cables, my PSU is a supernova evga G2 850.

850W power supply should have several PCIe cables. Do you just not have them anymore?

you should contact EVGA support before purchasing any 3rd party aftermarket products.
there is a chance they will replace missing or damaged cables for free or possibly for only shipping charges.

Just to make it clear, those cables are always specific to the PSU. There are no standardized cables.

Indeed. Cablemod sells compatible cables specifically for that PSUunder their E-series. As do others, but cablemod sets can often be found on the shelf at various e-tailers in addition to direct from them.

Yes I unfortunately don't have them anymore. But thanks for the help everyone, will get in contact with EVGA and try to get some cables from them. If not I'll order a 6, 6+2 cable from cablemod!
