ASRock M3A785GXH/128M, Corsair XMX DDR3 CMX4GX3M2A1600C9, AMD Phenom II, Win7/64.
Running fine for 8 months with 2x2GB ver9.1 in slots 0 & 1. Recently bought another 2x2GB (ver2.3) and installed in slots 2 & 3. Ran Memtest86+ and got 8000+ errors. RMA'd it, got 2nd set of sticks (ver2.3), installed in slots 2 & 3, and got 4000+ Memtest86+ errors! RMA'd it again, got 3rd set of sticks (again ver2.3), installed in slots 2 & 3, and now got 200 Memtest86 errors! I decided to test all the configurations, where O=Original memory (ver9.1), N=New memory (ver2.3), -=Empty:
MOBO slots 0 1 2 3
Test1 O O - - passed
Test2 - - O O passed
Test3 N N - - passed
Test4 - - N N failed
Test5 O O N N failed
Test6 N N O O passed!
I'm currently running stable in the Test6 configuration, but get Memtest86+ errors when the ver2.3 memory are in the 2 & 3 mobo slots. I don't know how to troubleshoot the problem any further, or even whether a problem exists since I have the 8GB working. Any thoughts? Thanks.
