Monitor connected via mini active display port to DVI not being recognized

I have 6950 CF set up and the two monitors connected via DVI are being recognized just fine. The one connected via the adapter is not even being shown.

When I first connected the screens, a message popped up saying I should have the latest AMD drivers (which I apparently do) or I should enable the display port.

Does anyone know where I go to do this? I'm trying to do an Eyefinity setup.

Not only that, but it seems that only one of 6950 can output videos at a given time. When I'm reinstalling the AMD drivers, the output would switch from one 6950 to the other (At this point, I have 2 monitors connected to one 6950 via DVI and 1 monitor connected to the other via DVI as well)

For AMD eyefinity with crossfire, only one card does the monitor outputs. In order to output to three monitors, at least one monitor must be connected using a DisplayPort. Is your DP adapter an ACTIVE adapter or a PASSIVE adapter? It must be an active adapter to use eyefinity. Make sure you hook up your monitors to only one of the cards outputs.

Yes, as soon as you enable Crossfire, your display outputs of the 2nd card are turned off.

Yes that adapter should work. To test the adapter (to see if its DOA) unplug every other monitor and only plug in a known working monitor with your DP adapter into the graphics card that is in the slot closest to the CPU. Boot the system with only this one monitor connected through the DP adapter. Make sure the monitor is set to the proper input.

If the monitor still wont display then you have a defective adapter. OR you are trying to run a monitor with a resolution greater than 1920x1080 with a single-link DVI adapter. If it does display properly then please list your full system specs (including your exact video cards).

I have went into CCC to check out all the available options.

Whenever I try to identify monitors, only the two connected via DVI are recognized. The one connected via DP is not listed anywhere. Also, trying to set up Eyefinity in CCC will only give me the options of doing so with the two monitors identified prior.

It's as if the monitor connected via DP isn't even there. It's not being recognized at all anywhere on my computer.

If this info helps, I just also tried connecting the third monitor to via HDMI instead. It wasn't recognized either. I know it's not the monitor that is faulty because I've been mixing and matching cables/monitors around a bit and can ensure that all three monitors work perfectly.

My AMD drivers and CCC are all up to date. I just don't know why the DP adapter isn't working.

I tried just that and the monitor received no signal. It appears I have a defective adapter.

All three of my monitors are native 1920x1080 and I'm running 1920x1080. My system specs are i5-750, 6950 CF, 4GB memory, Windows 7 64-bit.

You are most welcome. There is one (tiny) possibilty. The card you just used to test your DP adapter might have defective DP output. This is highly unlikely, but just do the same test but plug the adapter into the other card and again boot-up with only the one monitor attached with the adapter. That will tell you for sure whether your adapter is bad. But it looks like you've got the right setup with a bad adapter. It sucks, but I think you'll find eyefinity to be worth this hassle. I have to admit, it has totally spoiled me

My 6970 has a switch that disables one of its DPs in order to make one of its DVI ports into a dual-link port. This information would be provided with your card. For me it was a little confusing because there was no manual and that info was actually listed on the box itself. Look for something like "display configuration options" or something like that so you can be sure your cards aren't kinda weird like mine.

Would this be a physical switch on the GPU itself? Or would I be able to change it in a settings manager? I've checked my 6950 box and there doesn't seem to be anything that mentions that of the sort.
