I'm after some advice for a new monitor. Its primary uses will be for internet surfing, word processing and occasional movies. My budget is £150 at most, and preferably it would be 22" (or larger).

Any advice would be gratefully received!

Personally I would select a screen that can accommodate two A4/Legal sized pages. For general user like this, speed or quality isn't a priority so look for the best price vs size deal.

Hello, I have found that 4:3 works better for word processing. Yet 16:x is better for movies. Personally I use word for translations, so i place one document in the upper half of the screen and the second in the lower.

On a 16:x I have to palce them side by side. I find the first option better, or maybe i'm just used to it.

It's all up to you. Any monitor can arrive DOA (dead that is).
