Question Monitor Loose HDMI Port Causes Blacking Out When Gaming

My monitor (acer kg221q) has a loose HDMI port on it. Wobbling it causes red flickering dots on the display and the display blacking out. In normal use, there is no problem, but whenever I fire up a game, the problem seems to intensify. It is definitely the monitor as I have tried a different HDMI monitor with no issue.

To be honest, I think the monitor is dead enough for me to buy a new one. I'd like to know why the issue intensifies when I fire up a game.
