Monitor Overclocking Issues

Hey guys, so I have a Playstation 3D display I'm using as a monitor for my PC (http://us.playstation.com/ps3/accessories/sony-playstation-3d-display-ps3/index.html). It's paired with my Asus GTX 970 Strix through an HDMI 2.0 cable. The issue I'm having is that it has an advertised 240Hz refresh rate, but when hooked up to my PC it's only outputting 1080p/60Hz. I've tried overclocking the refresh rate in the Nvidia Control Panel, but to no luck. Every time I input a refresh rate higher than 60Hz, the monitor tells me that it is not supported. Am I doing something wrong or is this just false advertising?

At what resolution? When they advertise they tell you what resolution on your monitor will get this rate. What resolution are you running at?

As for advertising...

"Active shutter systems alternate the entire screen between left and right (60-120Hz for each eye, depending on the refresh rate of the TV), at the same time, the (powered) glasses are alternating (syncronized with the TV) between left and right."

So it is 120Hz per eye. This is how they can get away with advertising 240Hz.

As for 120Hz TVs using HDMI there is no such thing because the 120Hz is not through the cable but through a sub processor on the TV.

So don't believe what the sales guys tell you. I wish they would make some laws against this form of advertising.
