[SOLVED] Monitor question

Feel free to hammer me! I'm very green in this world welcome any input even at my expense lol. I recently changed to an rtx 2070 super from a GTX 1060 and have become obsessed with optimization. I mainly play games like destiny and overwatch but am wanting to learn video editing. Last night I did (I think) my first benchmark with an msi program. I just fiddled with the premade tests but noticed I had better results with the 1080p test vs the native 1440p. My monitor is a 144 hz 2560x1440 with gsync. I am looking to pick up a second monitor and based off my ham fisted benchmark am assuming I would get better results from a 1080p high refresh monitor. But then having mismatched resolutions on a dual screen setup isn't very appealing. Would I do well to try and sell my current higher resolution monitor and pick up 2 1080s? Is the difference negligible? Any input or advice is greatly appreciated!

2560x1440 144Hz and gsync, i wouldnt sell that thing it sounds like a good one.

I dont know specifications of 2070 super GPU but its not a bad card for sure, is it a 8GB or 11GB one?

Did i understand correctly you did 2 benchmarks one with 1080p and the other with 1440p ?
It is logical that lower resolution give better results but fact is lower resolution looks more bad.
I would use a dual monitor setup with 2x 1440p but i dont know if the 2070 super is strong for that.

i have some concern if my cpu might be hamstringing due to it being somewhat dated but am not quite sure what constitutes as "dated" when describing cpu's lol. I currently have an i5-6600. As far as the benchmarks, i didn't change any hardware, just changed the test specs. So I believe it downscaled my resoultion from the native 1440p so i had some "free real estate" around the outer egdes of the test program during the 1080p test.

The Dell monitor looks really good, but for a dual setup i cant tell if the 8gb variant will be strong enough. also the cpu (its okay but could be better)

I in your case would just leave everything how it is, if you really want dual monitor setup i would sell the dell and buy 2x 1080p
Like i said the dell is hot but the other components maybe dont handle dual setup 1440p
But i must say im not an expert with PCs, i can be wrong maybe your build is strong enough too.
