Question Monitor says "No DP display from your device"

I have a Dell S2419HGF and when I plug in the display port cable from the monitor to the graphics card it just says "No DP display from your device".. but when I use an hdmi cable, it works fine. I want to use display port cable because of Gsync. I have already went to the dell website to download the driver for it. Can anybody help me out? this is getting frustrating lol

Can you switch from HDMI to DP, in you monitor settings maybe?
