Pretty cool action game.....massive free-roam map. It's fun once you get used to the parachute and grap hook, and all the things you can do with it.

Unfortunately, the AI is dumber than snot and the game gets a bit repetitive and old after awhile.....I mean, for me it did.

Heh I think the last Tomb Raider game I played was Tomb Raider 2 :x I'll check these out though. Should be finishing Alice: Madness Returns this weekend (finally got a little free time to get back to playing this game) and looking for what I want to get into after it.

Ya dragon age origins is my favorite tactical rpg of all time, maybe favorite rpg all time. I love Skyrim now that it's getting some awesome mods however. I ended up running the benchie on Arkham Asylum:

Min: 61
Max: 150
Avg: 101

Now if I could get the new one to run well.

If I were you, start with Tomb Raider Legend. Underworld is the sequel to Legend, and is superior. But Legend is still an amazing game and you really want to play it before Underworld to get caught up on the story.

Anniversary is the original Tomb Raider remade in the new engine. It is far superior to the original Tomb Raider, but it still falls short when compared to the superior Legend (which came before it). Underworld is the best of the three.

If I were you, I would get Legend. If you like it, get Underworld. Anniversary is cool, but if you don't like Legend than you almost certainly won't like Anniversary.

I thought that was the case, but I wasn't sure.

It seems to me it is an odd name for a first game in a series. "Dragon Age" would be more appropriate, Dragon Age 2 for a sequel and Dragon Age Origins for a prequel. I think that is what confused me.

I heard a TON about that game. At this point I have to focus on the Batman series, Dragon Age, and BF3 lol... I have sooo many games that I haven't defeated.

Steamgames.jpg

A lot of those I haven't even played. I haven't put more than 2 hours into 80% of those games.

And those are just the games I have on Steam. Not to mention Origin, Amazon, and physical copies.

I can't resist a sale, and I lament when thinking of all the money I flushed on games I will in all likelihood never get around to playing. It's really kinda pathetic, when you think about it.

Totally reccommend justcause 2 it was one of my favorite games of all time deffinetly the most fun.As mentioned the AI are dumb but the missions are totally out of this world fun.Ive spent a 100 hours in this game and its the only fps singleplayer game ive ever spent that kind of time in.I still go back to it to finish stuff up i havent yet.i reccommend a purchase for sure

I beg to differ and am sure i am right about this i will find the articles and post them.Everyone ive ever played arma 2 with have always said if they started the game and went right to bootcamp they were figuring the way bootcamp ran it would be indicative of how the game would run and they would have been very happy with the performance, then they start the actual game and there fps gets cut right in half.I remember running bootcamp with an e8400 and an 8800 GT and it ran great on high settings then i go to the game and have to cut the settings in half to make it playable.Make no mistake about it arma 2 is cpu intensive.Ive gotten way more performance increase going from my e8400 to my phenom 965 be then any of the graphics cards ive upgraded to.then when i went to an i5-2500k overclocked to 4.5 i got a 15 fps increase no gpu has ever givin me that in arma 2 not even close.Ive run an 8800 GT,GTX 260 216 core a radeon 5850 a gtx 460 and now a 7970 and havent gotten much more then 15 fps from the first to the last card ive upgraded from. The AI has the biggest affect on gameplay if you go to the bohemian forums you will see tons of post on this subject
Actually, when I played ARMA 2 it was the performance I got in bootcamp that made me say to hell with it.

I got like 20fps. It was horrible. And I have no idea why. The game isn't pretty. There wasn't anything going on. I saw no reason why I should be getting such terrible performance.

No offense to you or anyone else who likes ARMA 2, but to me it just doesn't seem like a logical allocation of resources; from a design standpoint the developers missed the mark so badly that I don't even think ARMA 2 is a game, but one big joke, and one I didn't find a bit funny. I can imagine that the developers are just about crapping all over themselves with laughter that there are actually people who spent money on it; like they went out of their way just to see how bad of a shooter they can throw together, and just how many things they could screw up, and if people would still buy the game and take it seriously. And then you have games like Metro 2033 and STALKER that are perhaps the most underrated shooters of all time, and these games get no credit nor attention whatsoever.

I disagree with Metro. I think that game has had a very strong following and due in large part to a successful combination of fun-to-experience graphics really driven by superb specular lighting, and an engrossing story setting. In my opinion, Metro feels like a game that is aging well and has acquired a bigger fan base as time has gone on, which probably stands as a more significant achievement than early release accolades. At least, that is my opinion.

You cant compare a military sim to a rail shooter. To be fair there is so much more that goes into a military sim then a rail shooter like metro or crysis.Im sure you played arma 2 right out of the box without mods.Mods enhance the game tremendously from sound effects to explosion effects and many visual mods.I am really looking forward to arma 3 it looks alot nicer as well.As far as bootcamp goes i really do not know of anyone who said it ran worse then the actual game sot sure why it ran bad for you.anyways a nice video of arma 3 my most anticipated game of 2012 :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bz9mIgaBmU8

I think I have almost 60 including the games on Steam, physical copies, an the old direct2drive/gamefly. I cannot compare to yours I think. The funny thing is, the most memorable so far have been bound in blood: call to Juarez, Tron: evolution, crysis warhead, fallout 3, and dragon age origins. Everyone hated Tron and I thought it was awesome. I read the studio that created it is bankrupt because of it.

Safe to say reviews and even public opinion can stand to mean largely nothing. Hell, I think almost everyone has universely dubbed Alice: Madness Returns a mediocre game at best. Personally, I think it's one of the better hack and slash/platforming games that I've played in recent memory. I even like the art direction as much as the first, lol.

I'm with you. Arma 2 is almost Photorealistic when maxed and a short view distance is selected, there are so many variables in the game... Trees for example, play every flight som, the dcs high fidelity sim series (a10 and black shark). Falcon 4.0 (another high fidelity series), the locking series, xplane, Microsoft flight sim... Run into a tree on all and nothing happens, you just fly through it. Do that in arma 2 and you crash. Run over every tree in arms if you have the time and they'll all crumble with tanks. The game is the size of an official county. It's so much bigger than any other game; 2 mile sniper shots are on YouTube. Watch richiespeedisback's 1500 vs 1500 ai video.... Unreal. Without any question the must underrated military sim ever. Look at operation flashpoint: dragon rising... Epic fail... Tanks couldn't drive over curbs or logs in the game. In arms 2 you can call in choppers to pick you up. You can command an entire battalion lol. It's sick but takes a lot l. The learning curve is at least 2 weeks of serious time. I apologize if my grammar is jacked, I'm using my iPhone to write this.

Actually, you are right. What I meant with the STALKER games and METRO 2033 was how they were received by the critics and reviewers. They dumped all over those games. Wanna see how utterly retarded IGN is? Look no further than...

IGN's PC review for Modern Warfare 2, what they had to say about the graphics...

GRAPHICS - 9.5 "What was already an impressive graphical engine has only improved over the last two years. We’ve seen better on PC, but it’s a beautiful package to say the least."

4 months later they did the PC review of Metro 2033, and had this to say about the graphics...

GRAPHICS - 8.0 "The environments of Metro 2033 are very impressive, but the character models and animations leave something to be desired."

MW 2 (PC) Graphics - 9.5
Metro 2033 (PC) Graphics - 8.0

That kind of IGNorance permeates the "professional" gaming world. And user reviews are even worse. Go look at some of the user scores on Metacritic. All you see is 10s and 0s. Rage (PC) - which is an excellent game - has a user score of like 3. I'm serious. And people wonder why nobody takes fans seriously. People are stupid.

I have the worst grammar on this board lol.no worries there.I agree with you about arma 2 it is very underrated.I play bf 3 when i feel like running and gunning i play arma 2 when i like to plan strategy and what not.Not sure if you play arma 2 online jfizzle but we got a group of 4 or 5 of us that play every sunday we use skype voice chat to if you ever want to join in please let me know.We are not very good as a unit but getting better lol.If anyone else wasnt to join in let me know be happy to have you.the co-op is very immersive and fun

Let me tell you this:

Alice: Madness Returns is one hell of a game. I plan on getting that game next, I couldn't care less what the blowhards have to say about it.

Another game I liked that nobody else did was Superman 64. I'm serious. I thought it was fun as hell. Flying through those rings never gets old to me.

I agree man. I thought GOW3 on PS3 was over-rated and absolutely hated oblivion... But they're two GOTY titles in their time. MLB The Show: bought a PS3 just to play it and I hated it. Anything that requires me to use sabermetrics to Play no thanks lol. Disciples III I thought was awesome too. NFS Shift 2: Unleashed, still my favorite racer all time by far.... Terrified during every night race. Age of Conan: immersive as hell... Just sucked they cu voice acting after level 10. Great community though. Global Agenda was fun too, most folks probably have no clue what that is.
