Question Motherboad and cpu compatability

can somebody please help me as i cant find an answer to this online

Im going to to upgrade the i5 10400F and dont know if it will work on an intel H510 Chipset
the motherboad i would use is the Gigabyte H510M H it has an LGA 1200 socket
would this be compatable?

Have you tried looking under support from the manufacturer website at CPU Compatibility? Straight from the horse's mouth there...

5xx is technically the "11th gen" chipset, however most 10th gen CPU and 5xx chipsets work natively together. Always a good idea to look, see it on that list, and be SURE rather than taking someone else's word for it.

The 10400 is listed as supported with the F3 BIOS. That looks like the first BIOS for that board. F6 is the oldest listed for download.
