Hi, ever since I played around with the hd cables on my motherboard, I get this message everytime I turn the pc on.
"An ultra ata/66 drive (or faster) is connected with a 40 pin IDE cable on the secondary channel. Drive speed is downgraded to ultra/33 mode dma."
But my hard drive is a Western digital 200 gig UDMA/100 And I'm connecting it with a 40 pin 80 conductor cable which was the cable it was using before I got these messages.
I was checking the manual and it says the cable and connector I'm using is for UltraDMA 100/66 which is what hard drive is.
Yet this error message says I have a ultra ata and not an ultra dma drive and is defaulting it to ultra/33 mode dma.
My drive is this one. http://www.tomshardware.com/2002/10/11/western_digital_breaks_a_record/index.html
My drive also has a IDE Raid connector. Was I supposed to plug it in there?
Thanks in advance.
