So I have an Dell Alienware AW2723DF monitor.

Lately I've noticed in Call of Duty that if im moving around too fast it's like motion blur is on which it isn't, Also i very no frame drops when it happens, it makes no sense I have no motion blur enabled anywhere.

I have my frames capped a 240 in multiplayer because if I don'myny frames go over 300 which I know will cause blur and Screen tearing, in OSD I have refresh time set to super fast not extreme.

I my question, is there any way I can test the monitor for motion blur without playing call of duty or a video game? I know they have that website UFO but I've never used it so I don't even know how to use it or easy in looking for? I just want to make sure that the monitor is not bad.

Also my drivers haven't been updated in a while I think I'm about 4 months past because the driver I run used to be the best one for call of duty but I'm not sure if still is.

Reviews of your monitor talk about your monitors tendency to have motion blur. Have you tried a lower refresh rate, I don't think you need 280hz refresh rate. for Call of duty. Also, you can try capping your fps to match your refresh rate, deducting 1 or 2 fps lower than your refresh rate used.

It's your eyes that cause the motion blur effect.

Normal person eye sight is between 60 Hz to 90 Hz. Anything faster than that, causes blur.
E.g your monitor can do up to 280 Hz. If you spin the image fast, ~ at 120Hz rate, your eyes and in turn, your brain, can't keep up with that, resulting in a blur effect.

Some people, in very specific situations, can see ~500Hz, but i don't think you'd be one of those.

I'm running it at 240 capped at 235 im going to do a cap with rivatuner instead of in Game as i rat capping games in the Gane settings can cause issues, I've read about the extreme setting for my monitor in OSD for response causing gray to gray issues so super fast is the best option but i couldn't find articles on motion blur I'll look again.

in competitive fps you need the highest frames you can get, so you need your monitor on the highest hrtz possible to get those frames.

No the game actually bugs out like things don't render fast enough so there's a motion blur affect, I loaded up Apex and it didn't do it as bad on there, it doesn't do it all the time on cod though just when I'm running around super fast , in cod you can't disable AA either so I've read alot effete people say it's the game, I just want to make sure it's not my system, I dint understand how to use the ufo test thing but I ran it last night and visually looked fine but I didn't get no information on if there were issues

Either:
* game issue
* RAM issue
* storage drive issue (where game is installed)
* or whole system is bogged down, making loading of any data slower than usual.

Could very well be, yes. Since game engine defines how fast it loads the items in. It can choke when you speedhack past the normal load-in time, what devs thought normal gameplay would require.

its only 2 maps as well as i noticed today and when im running around with a knife (faster running) leaning towards the game as nothing else does it but i primarily only play cod until the 26th when ill switch over to world of warcraft , i did modify my config file for textures which might be the issue so ill switch that back today

i did tests with crystaldisk , my os drive is 5400 mb/s but is only reading at 3400 and writing at 2200 and is on pci 3.0

my game drive is 7400 ms , its reading at 7300 and writing at 7200 but is on pci 4.0

i do know my os drive is pci 3 not 4 but does those low of speeds mean my drives bad ?

Is it motion blur or stutter?i cant really tell more like game artifacts/stutter/packet burst for a few seconds after i start running , i run a custom powerplan that was done for me by a tuner (its basically ultimate but tuned)
i have all the settings set up i get high frames its just i get what looks like moption blur i will take a video

Since you have a custom power plan, try using something like HWMonitor to monitor your cpu speeds and thread usage. If the game has stutters or motion blur and the cpu usage is not coming up to proper speed or lags when you encounter it, you may have found your problem.

i know its 4.0 but its on 3.0 slow
Mushkin Vortex-LX is the value/cheap option regarding M.2 NVMe SSDs from Mushkin.

PCI-E 3.0 x4 (aka Gen3), max bandwidth is 4000 MB/s.
So, your drive at 3500 MB/s read is actually pretty good. Equal to my Samsung 970 Evo Plus (2TB), which is dedicated PCI-E 3.0 drive.
Write speed of 2200 MB/s, well, that you can blame on the "value" focus of your drive. E.g my 970 Evo Plus has write speed of 3200 MB/s.

Even when you could run your Mushkin drive on PCI-E 4.0, with max bandwidth of 8000 MB/s, the drive itself is able to provide 5200 MB/s read and 4370 MB/s write.
For comparison, Samsung 990 Pro, dedicated PCI-E 4.0 drive, offers 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write. Compared to 990 Pro, your Mushkin drive is very slow. With this, there is no grounds for complaint, since Mushkin drive is "value" drive and it doesn't supposed to have same speeds as e.g industry leader: 990 Pro.

I did and do, all temps are perfect , cpu maxed 74° during gaming, gpu 68° , I dint know how to read anything else in there lol

Yeah but it's what came with the pc when I bought it, that's what the company used and trust me they didn't spare my bank lol, from my understanding is a drive is a drive.

if I had it my way i would if got crucial and spent a few extra dollars, the company did use evos but at a way higher cost but I got the pc that's when the evos needed the update cause they were getting ruined, feel what I've read you dont need pro's they're great but cheaoer ones work just as good, drives rack up the price of pcs they're expensive lol, my Game drive runs 7300 read and 7100-7200 write, it's also a mushkin but it's on a pci-E 4.0, I'm cutting the speeds in half in the 5200 1tb Because im not running it on 4.0 right?
