Hey Everyone,

Build Components:
Ryzen 7 7700X
G.Skill 32GB of DDR5 RAM
MSI PRO B650-P WIFI Motherboard
GTX 1080ti
1tb NVME M.2

I made a new build with the above components but every time I go to boot with the Display port cable plugged into the 1080ti there is no display. If I plug the display port into the motherboard however I am able to boot into the bios with no issue. Additionally, I tried with my GTX 1080 plugged in and it also had the exact same problem, even after updating the bios. I then tried an RTX 4070 and it booted up into the bios with the display port plugged into the GPU with no problem. Is this motherboard not compatible at all with a GTX 1080ti or 1080? Is there anything I can do to make both components work with each other?

Any help is appreciated, thank you so much!

If you don't have it yet, get the BIOS User Guide at

https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/AMDAM5BIOS.pdf

Using the screen you can boot to when plugged into the mobo's rear Display Port socket, in BIOS Setup go to the Advanced Mode menu (p. 10) and choose the second item, Advanced. In that go to the Integrated Graphics Configuration screen (p. 14). For the first item, Initiate Graphics Adapter, set that to PEG. Back out and reboot. This will tell your system to use the GTX 1080ti card in the PCIe slot for all functions, and not the CPU's built-in graphics abilities. So you should find NO display from the mobo socket when you reboot, and when you move the cable to the card's Display Port that should be giving you the display you expect.
