MY COMPAQ PRESARIO 2500 SERIES NOTEBOOK GETS HANGED ON COMPAQ SCREEN LOGO, IF I PRESS F2 FOR SETUP IT ENTERS INTO SETUP BUT WORKING VERY SLOW AND THEN NOT BOOTING.

If I had to guess, I would say you have two problems:
1. Your hard drive is toast; your system looks for it and hangs.
2. Your CAPSlock key is stuck.

+1 for hard drive. Take it out and if it dont hang, that is the issue. Same thing for me 2 weeks ago, dead HDD
