Why not wait for Sandy Bridge to resurface? The performance increase per core, per clock, the better overclockability, and lower wattage, make LGA 1155 worth the wait. Check some benchmarks for the i5 2500k and i7 2600k. They both compete with the $1000 processors on x58. Otherwise, things look fine.

well I have been looking into that and although i know SB will be better, it will also be more expensive. I can get a 950 for 200 from microcenter. If i do wait and end up having enough money i just might get SB instead, but idk yet. What parts would i have to change in order to switch to SB?

Microcenter sells the i7 2600k for around the same price, right? And you should save money by only needing 2 sticks of ddr3 instead of 3 for x58, so there shouldn't be any increase in cost. The ASUS P8P67 PRO is about $190 and it was hailed as one of the best sandy bridge boards available. You'd just need to change the RAM kit, processor, and motherboard.

microcenter sells the 2600 for 280. so it would cost just a little bit extra to get SB. because the MOBO and RAM would be about same price as the ones i have now. So i will just decide. I have a 22" monitor but i wanted to get a 24" one. i will just have to see what my budget allows when the time comes. If i cant get SB its no big deal as i would have a seriously hard time putting the 950 to its limit, if that would be even possible.
