Question My HDD runs continuously and never sleeps. I run windows in SSD. How to enable sleep for HDD when not in use?

My laptop has combo SSD+HDD. What i observed my HDD runs continious even i dont use it. My Boot drive is SSD. Also there is no page file set on HDD. Crystal Diskinfo too says my HDD runs more than SSD. These are images :

Also my laptop is shipped with Modern Standby, hence power option does not have any option for HDD sleep.
How can i apply sleep option for HDD to increase its lifespan????

Power on hours are taken into account even when the HDD isn't spinning, it's usually the time during which your computer is powered on.

Those are two individual devices.

That is irrelevant.
It will die when it feels like dying.

We don't know whether both SSD + HDD were started from 0 at the same time, the HDD might have been used a while before the SSD.

You can start a test now, note down the drives's details and wait for a coupe of days, then post your report.

I mean i have two slots for storage. In one i have ssd and in one i have hdd.
I mostly use SSD in which i have installed windows. I rarely use hdd but have some data on it. When i use my laptop i only use files on ssd drive and never access files from my hdd. So is it possible to apply sleep option for hdd????

Earlier (on other pc) there was a sleep option for hdd, where it spin down and when i access hdd drive again it takes some time to access files. What i want to put hdd to sleep and using ssd for my work.

Both started at same time. I have bought this laptop three months ago. And using since then. Using both of my drives. But what i can relate that there is a chance when i put my system into standby (sleep) hdd takes time to go to sleep. So this may be the reason hdd power on time is high.

Will note drive time again.
