Hello, good evening everyone. My laptop is quite old, and I recently encountered a checksum error. I replaced the battery, and when I tried to reset the time, I couldn't access the BIOS settings. I attempted pressing all the function keys, as well as DEL and ESC, but none of them worked.

I'm not sure what happened, as the Caps Lock LED is on, which suggests the keyboard is functioning properly. However, the BIOS won't open despite pressing all the function keys. If anyone has a solution to this, please help.

Laptop: make, model, specs, OS?

Replacement battery: make, model, specs, source?

The Caps Lock LED being on does not necessarily suggest that the keyboard is functioning properly. At best the LED being on means only that the LED still works.

Also, for most users, the Caps Lock key should be off (unlit LED) unless there is some specific reason to type using all capital letters.
