Hi there,

I have the following configuration:
E6600, ASUS P5N32E-SLI, 2GB CORSAIR SLI Memory, 8800GTX in SLI.

I want to overclock my E6600 to 3GHz and I need an efficient cooler to do so.

There are not many HSF available in India and I have the following coolers available:
1. Cooler Master Hyper 48
2. Zalman CNPS 9500
3. Zalman CNPS 7700

Please suggest is Hyper48 cooler ok or should I go in for zalman.

Thanks for you help.

Best Regards,
Techguy.

Thanks.

I am getting Hyper 48 for Rs. 2800 i.e. is around USD60 and Zalman 9700 is not available.

I think I will go in for Hyper 48 then.
I will be getting 1 Year warranty on Hyper 48.

Techguy.

To get a E6600 to 3Ghz a Artic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 will do (I got one) and is very very cheap (got it for 19 euro's). So the models you mention will all do.

3Ghz is an easy overclock (9 x 333) and you even can keep most settings as vcore quite low (low temps).

I'm looking for a stable 3,2 Ghz (8 x 400) but I'm awaiting my Scythe Ninja cooler before I take the jump.

I ran my E6600 at 3.0 GHz with the stock Intel fan and 1.35v. I bought the Zalman 9700 and took it to 3.6 GHz at 1.45v. Runs 54C via SpeedFan and 65C via TAT.

Hi, But how can you take E6600 to Multiplier 8. as far as I know E6600 is multiplier locked.

Rishi.

Its just locked from standard up. So the 9x can go down but not higher. The only truly unlocked intel proc AFAIK is the x6800. Is the qx6700 unlocked?

I don't know why you are are making such a big deal about 3 Ghz. Im an amature overclocker, and i got a 6400 to go to 3.3 Ghz.....

I would bet quiet a bit that you can get that 6600 to 3g with that stock cooler no problem. I have my my 6300 at 3.337 with the zalman 9500 but I could take it to 3g with almost a stock voltage.
