I am upgrading my i5-4690, MB, and RAM to an i5-9600k. I was going to choose the i7-9700K but i just play games on my PC and absolutely nothing else and play at 1440p. Also got a 1080Ti and 16GB of........DDR3 1600MHz ram lol.

I would prefer a GIGABYTE Z390 board but Newegg is out of stock on almost every Motherboard same as every other day of the year, Amazon has some in stock but low end ones.

So Gigabyte is out of stock on most sites i seen and probably will be for a few years so i assume i will have to choose a different brand. Hopefully Asus, MSI, ets.

What would be the best motherboard thats not over $200 and can overclock decently? Not looking to break any records just to get to 5GHz or close.

Hope someone can help i been looking for one and cant find a decent one.

The Ram i am getting is 3600MHx DDR4 4x8GB.

I would advise getting a Ryzen 3600 and an x570. A decent air cooler should allow the 3600 to hit 4.4 GHz and its single thread power will be very sufficient for 2k gaming.

But the 3600 is worse than the i5-9600k in almost everything. Even the Ryzen 9 3900X performs less or the same as an i5-9600K so i see no reason to buy AMD If even their better and more expensive CPU's underperform in games than intel.

Sure it has 16 cores but I just play games and nothing else. I was wanting AMD but it just seems like it is a low end CPU when compared to Intel In Gaming.
