need help playing ESPN NHL 2K5

Good day all,

I am new to the X-Box community and at Xmas receive ESPN NHL 2K5. It is
my first time playing a sport game and i am confuse.

Is there a tutorial available somewhere that could teach me how to play
this game. I have been going thru some modes of the game. Exhibition
seems to be only something to watch like a real tv hockey game, tried
to play season but was unable to memorized all the buttons functions to
play properly, tried franchise but other than hiring coaches i am
not sure what i should do next . Tried to find the heritage play but
was not able to ect ect...... Beside i am not sure if the first step is
to play franchise first then start a season or just play a season
without selecting a franchise first

Anyhow any help you could offer so i can enjoy this game would be
greatly appreciated.

Start by playing Exhibition. Make certain you move the controller to
one team so you are controlling that team. Change the settings to
Rookie mode and play. Start by learning to move, pass and shoot on
offense and move, change player and check on defense.

The skills competition (or whatever they call it) might help as well
since it generally focuses on one or two actions and there is less
outside pressure (opposition) to deal with.

Be aware that when you play a game you can change just about every
setting from the pause menu. As you become more comfortable you might
want to explore something beyond rookie and the advanced controller
options.
