Need help - simple question

Hey all, first time posting here and I have a quick question hopefully someone can answer. I recently bought a desktop at best buy (stupid, i kno) which came with an Intel E2180 dual core processor running at 1.8ghz. As far as I know, a computer purchased from best buy, circuit city or the like cant be overclocked. However, I was looking at getting a new mobo and a better graphics card and was wondering if the locked overclocking was tied to my mobo, or my cpu. So if I get a new mobo will I be able to take my E2180 and overclock it? or would I need a new cpu as well? Any help would be appreciated.

get a new motherboard, put your proc in there, should OC fine
