im sry but i dont understand?, the intel core i7-990x is Socket-LGA1366, and the ASUS SABERTOOTH X58, is Socket-1366
how can that be wrong? :ouch:

If you want to waste money you might as well wait until I7-3960X comes out alongside LGA2011 next month.

At least get decent monitors if you are spending way too much as well. 5K computers running on TN panels makes angels cry.

Apparently you. But, you can get 3x24" e-IPS at 300-500 a piece. If you don't spend a grand on a processor and still want to spend 4k. Then there you go.

This is a build i think you will like. I will explain under each unit.

This case will fit any cooler and vid card you want to put in it. It has very good airflow.

Corsair is in top of the PSU market. 1200W will grant you enough power for any SLI arrangement out there, and still give you some upgrade availability.

Beast of a MoBo, as my brother says. Can do anything today has to offer, and great for OC's. Quad SLI capable.

Same processor you had, just underclocked and half the price. You don't need much more than the i7 2600k, but since you picked a 6-core, this is the one you want. You can crank this puppy to 5.0GHz or close to it.

Best on newegg, and quite frankly, one of the best if not thee best air cooler out there. You will want this for max cpu performance.

while the 590's are the elites, these 580's in SLI will perform ver well, and even give you 3 monitor display with absolutely no issues. They are a fraction of the price, and allow for better quality monitors.

16Gb of RAM is way overkill, but its $75 for 2 sets, and quite frankly, with your budget, why not?

M4 is probably the best SSD series on the market right now, and with dual 512GB running in RAID0, you will be cookin! and have plenty of room to store all your kick ass games!

LiteON is one of the most reputable companies for drives, and it is equipped with LightScribe, Blu-Ray burner.

1ms response time...do i need to to say any more? 27" and one of the best prices for this quality i believe.

on the house for your gpu's. happy gaming!

on the house for your RAM

I through in a regular cd/dvd burner just in case you dont want to wear down your blu-ray drive, and total is $4,981.83. You will be getting back $65 in MIR on top of this, so in actual price:

$4,916.83

Getting an awesome build and blowing money are two separate things. No sense getting a more expensive processor, when a newer cheaper one beats it. I also must say I don't think the money is being managed well. Too little spent on GPU's (especially for 3 screens) and too much spent on stuff like the RAM cooling fan and the Velociraptor.

I would buy this for the system itself:

Intel Core i7-2600k - $314.99
16GB Corsair Vengeance LP - $104.99
ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z - $349.99
Crucial M4 256GB - $382.99
2 x Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB in RAID 0 - $119.98
3 x MSI Lightning Xtreme GTX 580 (Fermi) 3GB - $1782
Corsair AX-1200 - $279.99
Coolermaster HAF 932 - $159.99
Noctua NH-D14 - $85.99
LG Blu ray Burner - $69.99

Total - $3750.88

3 x ASUS VG236HE 23'' 120Hz - $959.97

Grand Total - $4610.87

Only really put those monitors in for 120Hz but get the 3d glasses too and you have 3d surround.

EDIT: If you don't care about 120Hz I would get 3 of those Samsung 27'' monitors.

Thanks for the help guys! many wice opinions, ill come back with an update for my final purchase tomorrow!

one question tho "Casualbuilder"
does that gpu support "eyefinity" or is there another mode expect from "amd's eyefinity" that gives the same "extra side wiev" in games?

UMM, i think AMD is the only "Eyefinity" gpu, but nVidia has PhysX. I won't start on why i think nVidia is better for fear of hurting people's feelings. Ill just say thats what i recommended cuz thats what i believe is better. especially for multi-monitor setups.

thanks Casuabuilder, im a amd racist aswell but ive mad the eyefinity settup as an exception, but if you say so! ill go with nVidia, 2 secounds and ill throw in the final build 😀

okey Casualbuilder ive put together what you settup and it looks awfully awsome :)
But (im sry im not to familiur with overclocking) i thought the processors without a "k" in the intel series was not unlocked? am i wrong? or how do you make that procedure? guide or links please ! ;D

you are wrong in this sense. the 9xx's for intel is their six-core processor line. My bro has this chip, and had it OC'd to 4.5 on stock HSF. With that Frio? you are in the range of 5.0GHz.

BTW, thank you for choosing my build. Make your own decision about this though, as other people have stated other option. Please post your final build though so the people running $1,000 systems can druel...lol

hehe, Casualbuilder if you dont mind taking a look at my current build.
Im wondering if my current build actually can be upgraded to look somewhat near what im aiming for 😉
take a look and comment if you have time 😉!
PS: soon done with the "main" build :)

Motherboard: ASUS P8P67 B3, Socket-1155 ATX, P67, DDR3, 2xPCIe(2.0)x16, Crossfire, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.0, FW, BT, EFI

PCU: Corsair TX650M 650W PSU ATX 12V V2.31, 80 Plus Bronze, Modular. 2x 6+2-pin PCIe, 8x SATA, 140mm Vifte
GPU: Gainward GeForce GTX 560Ti 1GB PhysX PCI-Express 2.0, GDDR5, 2xDVI, HDMI, 822MHz
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-2300 Processor Socket LGA1155, 2,8GHz, 6MB, Boxed
ram: Kingston ValueR. DDR3 1333MHz 4GB, CL9 Kit w/2x ValueRAM 2GB DDR3

Yeah, you can definitely work with that! The i5-2300 is a great little processor, but you can't overclock.
So, why do you want to upgrade? Seems like you have a damn fine build for now.
