Hey, I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a cheap, but good router that can do both wired and wireless as well as handle big loads such as bittorrent. My old one, a BEFSR41 from LinkSys keeps on crashing and my connection dies every now and then so I have to keep resetting it.

That works well and is extremely configurable as long as you're just running your network at 100 Mbps. If you want a gigabit network, you need a computer with PCI Express NICs as simply shuffling data from one computer on the LAN to another anywhere near a gigabit in actual throughput (~120 MB/sec) will trash the PCI bus in an older computer. You'd be lucky to see 60 MB/sec transfer rates.

OP: I would suggest the latest D-Link gaming router (DGL-4500.) I have an older 802.11g model of their gaming router (DGL-4300) and it is hands-down the best router I have had, period. It has gigabit LAN ports and can handle a lot of network throughput. The wireless is pretty decent as well and it is one of the more configurable home routers out there. It can't hold a candle to a Linux computer stuffed with a lot of NICs as far as configurability goes, but it should get the job done.
