aight soo i just finished my build

Asus M488t-V USB 3.0 Motherboard
Zalman 135mm cpu cooler
Antec 750watt psu
Operating System: Windows 2.6.1.7601 (Service Pack 1)
CPU Type: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor
CPU Speed: 3.22 GHz System (pushed the system to 3.8)
Memory: 7.75 GB Corsairs Vengence
Video Card Model: ATI Radeon HD 4250 Video Card Memory: 3.1 GB
Video Card Driver: atiu9pag.dll
Desktop Resolution: 1280x720
Hard Disk Size: 931.41GB
Hard Disk Free Space: 908.29 GB (98%)
Download Speed: 1.49 MB/s (12.5 mbps)

Now i will be installing a new GPU,soundcard and another HDD


Here's my question
I installed 8Gb of ddr3 corsairs vengence but it shows i am only getting 7.75..have i done somthing wrong or is this normal.
can anyone recommend a good GPU and sound Card?

Sometimes a computer only shows slightly less memory capacity then you have because that extra memory is being used by other components. I wouldn't worry about it.

In fact the laptop I'm using right now only tells me that 1.87GB of it's 2GB is usable.
