COOL DOWN!!

Ohhk,

So..

To run a system restore via task manager:
1.
Launch the Task Manager by pressing "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Delete" together.

2
Click the "File" menu and click "New Task (Run)" to launch the "Run Command" window. Type "C:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe" (without quotes) and press "Enter" to launch the System Restore utility.

3
Click the "Create a new restore point" radio button on the welcome screen if you want to create a new backup. Type the name of the backup and click "Create." By default, Windows creates restore points automatically, but you can create a backup.

4
Click the "Restore my computer to an earlier time" radio button if you want to perform a System Restoration process. Select the day to restore your computer to and run the System Restoration wizard.

5
Click the "Undo my last restoration" radio button on the welcome screen if you want to undo a previous restoration process.

i was pretty scared when the C:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe failed apparently it doesnt exist on my com, but then i tried dogsnakes idea and it freakin worked

but weird thing though it pushed f8 and the top option (next to safe mode ) was a system recovery tool, i selected it and to for 2 seconds it showed the vista boot screen i also received the old power saver option from vista that dims the screen... wasnt there before

and to top it all off theres no real history of vista on this com anymore, at the time i bought a new hard drive and installed windows 7 directly to it... wierd its like a ghostly felling from the past

anyway eveythings back to normal and with this being my thrid problem post for this same computer, i thinks its time for a new one :)

thanks again
