Hello don't want anyone thinking i'm wasting your time with this couse it might seem as a joke, so pandemic hit and now staying at home with no job, I have some time to kill, and I was never into gaming that much but recently I started playing here and there and enjoy it a lot, but my pc is really old and I'm trying to see if I can upgrade it somehow even tho money is a big issue right now, hopefull it will get better.

Windows 10 pro64
intel(r) core(tm) 2 cpu 6400 @2.13GHz
Mmeory : 6144mb Ram
directx 12
Nvidea GEforce gt610

I don't understand much about pc's so I'm asking for help on what Graphic card I could get that would work on this, that would be better or any upgrades that I could do.
sorry for wasting your time guys help will be much appreciated ^^

Solution
both of them new are around 170$ can find cheaper second hand.
Awesome.
I suppose your psu is trash,so i would grab one for 80$ too.
You need a good powersupply, that will allow you to upgrade your gpu or what ever in the future.
Think of it as a 5 year investment atleast.
Choose wisely,be careful when choosing wattage, you dont want to regret not paying 5$ more for 100W 5 years later,if you know what i mean.
Can you find a cx 550?

You are not wasting anybody's time : )
What games are you looking to play?
Budget?
Monitor resolution?
Where do you live? (or just link the shop if you are not in the US)

1280 x 1024 60hz
I'm from Portugal even tho we get around 600 dollars minium wage pc parts are expensive, hum I'm not sure like 250 dollars ( probably not gonna give for anything)
I have no shop I know of but I can like compare with the us shops
and I was planning on playing csgo since it did run before.
thanks for replying

Alright.
So basically both your cpu and gpu are very outdated.
The thing is,the GPU market is very bad right now.
Everything is so expensive.
What GPU can you get for 250$ in Portugal?
Check used market too.
How much is a gtx 1050Ti or a gtx 1650?

Solution
why would you put a 650W gold rated PSU in a build with a 1650 and at max (unknown mobo) a quad core CPU? futureproofing sure but you wouldn't put a 3070 there without replacing all of the other parts
Exactly.
Replacing the cpu/mobo/ram after the gpu upgrade would open more opportunities.
650W might be overkill now but who knows, what if he decide's to grab a 3070 in a few years?
And you dont want be short on your psu.
