I'm trying to upgrade to current gen motherboards so I have some longevity on my build. I might have some flexibility and go up to 750$ really depends on what I can save. I don't really care about what team they come from, just that it can run better than my current spec. I've looked at a bunch of parts already, but CPUs seem really expensive and I'm not sure if what I'm looking at is best bang for my buck. I'm also looking at a 6700XT right now which seems like a good option, but I'm just wondering if there are any better options.

Looks like the budget is 500, max 750?

What is the primary use case?

That being said, do you happen to have Microcenter close to you? If so they tend to have combo deals. They’ve been running a deal for an AMD ryzen 7700, board and 32gb of ram for 399.

You may also look at the 6750 xt which is basically a little higher clocked 6700xt. Could also look at the 7600 xt. I will say though if you start getting into the tier of the 7800xt or so it’s a nice upgrade.

If this is just a gaming pc you could even look at just swapping an 8700k into the existing pc as those can be found for about 100 bucks.

Might need to upgrade the power supply to a better unit but you could get the rx 6800 for example for about 350

Maybe pick up another 2tb ssd to load games etc on and retire one of your old hard drives.

DDR 4 is also dirt cheap right now and you can grab a 32gb kit regularly under 50 bucks.

Suggestions made on this thread of yours, a couple of months ago, are still relevant to you;
and with that being said, I see you swapping out the motherboard, processor, ram and PSU to make way for your discrete GPU. How old is your PSU in your build?

Here is my take on your upgrade path;
