nero wont burn discs

Hi,
I've got xp pro sp2
3200 amd (A)
msi k7n2 delta ILRS
1024ram
256 graphic.

Reformatted pc . installed everything that you normally would.
Installed nero. Everything seemed to be fine. (OEM version)
BUT when i try to burn a disc..data or music it tries but just hangs at
either 5% or 50% and thats where it stays. I once got the message " could not
form fixation. Does any one know what that means?
Have tried recording on CD and Dvd drive, both wont work but can read other
discs
Be greatful if anyone could help me sort this out.

Thanks for that, the discs i am using are very cheap so I will buy some
decent ones and try again.

Use Nero info tool to id drive string and firmware ver #..You may need to
update Nero and the drives firmware if avalible..
Update Nero to 6.6.0.16 here:
