Hello! Not long ago a got a low end gaming pc. It has : I3 10105f , msi gtx 1650 gddr6 OC , 16 gb ddr4 3000mhz , 500 w ewga psu. Im just a casual gamer,
but my monitor is ruining the experience. I have a (around) 15 year old square shaped acer al 1917f monitor.(8 ms response time which is bad) The only reason i havent switched to a 1080p monitor/tv that i have unused at home, is because that tv/monitor is only 60hz and my old acer is 75hz. And the 1080p tv/monitor just feels slow. There is only 1 game that requires high fps that i play and its csgo. On competetive settings (full resolution 1280x1024) i get around 100-450 fps. I definitely want to upgrade my monitor but im not sure what hz should i get. Im expecting a 20-30% fps drop if i switch from 1280-1024 to 1080p, and a 144hz would be an overkill since my pc wont be able to provide 144fps+ all the time. But from a few yt benchmark videos i saw that its able to give 150+fps with all high settings.
And then there are the new updates. After almost every update i have less and less fps, or just more unstable fps. So maybe it will be able to keep up with my monitor for a few months but later i dont know. Should i get rather a 120 hz, or stick with a decent 1080p 75 hz with low response time.
Thanks in advance
