I am getting a new system. What is the best method for getting what I
have on my old system to my new one? I do not want to move system files.

to move fromoyur old pc to new pc, give more details

My suggestion would be to take the hard drive from your current
computer, put it in the new computer, boot off your Windows XP CD,
choose to repair Windows, and then it will ask to reactivate.
Reactivate using the key provided with your new system or your old key
if it wasn't OEM too. You may need to call in and have this done.

Either a crossover cable between the network ports on each
machine or maybe a memory stick . . . there are lots of
ways, please be more specific . . .

You can try Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | File and
Settings Transfer Wizard

It will not copy applications - such as Microsoft Office, Symantec
Antivirus, etc. - but it will copy data files.

Install the drive from the old computer into the new one as a slave drive.
