im looking to buy a new pc.. around 1200 bux.. i decided on an amd 64 3200 with gef 6800 128 meg card.. will this be sufficient to run half life 2?? 1 gig of rqm and an asus motherboard?

Yes, that will run HL2 quite nicely.

Might be hard to get under $1.2k with all that - unless you have some of the parts (monitor, mainly) already.
