what do we do about the times when someone creates a thread, then gets a solution to their problem/answer to their question and say "thanks" but don't select a "Best Answer"?
I mean, I would normally think to say at the end "Glad to know that your problem has be solved, please consider selecting one of the responses by one of the members as "Best Answer" in order to help others looking for a solution to the same question"
But last time I checked, doing so was considered in poor taste and frowned upon by the staff.
Upvote the best answer you see in any thread you are in. After a certain period of time (I forget exactly - 2 months maybe?) the answer with the highest votes 5 or more will auto select as best answer, if the OP hasn't selected one. Also Moderators can select BA's you can always ask one of us if we aren't already in there.

Actually we've changed this. Now whenever a response gets 5 upvotes it automatically receives the best answer. This best answer will "lock" after 30 days. If any other response gets more upvotes than the current best answer this post will be the new best answer.Upvote the best answer you see in any thread you are in. okay another thing that is starting to be annoying... when we used to get alerts we clicked on first one, got the forum message and when clicked on alerts again that messages was set as "read"
now the alerts just stay piled up in the box that you read them or not. forcing to scroll down the listing for next message or click show all …
