Question New Western Digital internal hard drive crashes everything it touches

A friend and I were installing a new hard drive into his computer, and once we started installing games (after formatting it) every platform that wants to install a game onto the new volume crashes. We've managed to install destiny 2, which works, but installing Valorant only causes riot games to crash, GTA V just crashes as soon as it starts up, and Steam keeps crashing as he's trying to download Elden Ring 🙁

He's never faced any issues like this prior to installing the drive.

FULL hardware specifications including CPU, motherboard, memory kit, power supply EXACT model, and all connected drives?

Did you do a clean install of Windows, or a clone to the new drive, or this a secondary drive?
