Hi, first of all, I'd like to say, I have read all the other posts about this issue. But mine has a specific problem and I hope that you guys will be able to help me in my pursuit.
First off, I removed the stock cooler from my AMD Phenom II X4 and replaced it with a new one, I plugged the connector into the correct slot and everything, the fan didn't start the first time, but then it worked, then stopped and eventually shutdown due to overheating, I then started it up, I noticed it jolts for a quick second but does not start, also, when it went into the system repair mode ( don't know the tech term, when it gives you N option to start normally or repair) the fan was fine! Any help? I will try the old fan to see if it works.
Also, do you think I have enough power with 500W? I upgraded my Gtx 460 Se to a gtx 570 hd - works fine. Do you think it does sent have enough to power the fan lol?
Also is there anything I can try in my American mega trends bios? The motherboard is asus and there are no other fan connectors on the motherboard.
Sorry for the formatting, writing this on my iPad which can be a pain.
Please ask for any more info.
EDIT - the old stock fan works, could it be faulty? Even though it has sort of worked at one point?
EDIT 2 - I managed to get it going up to desktop, but as soon as I started up a game to test my new gfx, it stopped.
