I have a computer that has a ASUS NF7-S mother board with an Atholon 2500+ processor. I thought my hard drive died so I replaced it with a paralel drive and purchased Windows 7. Windows 7 required more memory so I bought 2, 1 gig memory sticks. Everything worked well for a couple of weeks and last night while running the computer speaker produced a siren like sound so I shut the computer down using Windows shut down process. I tried to boot the computer today and I get a CPU error, "CPU is unworkable or has been changed." I pressed F1 to continue and the computer booted up into Windows. I now have a window that says "AMD Atholon device driver installed sucessfully" and another window that says I need to reboot my computer to complete the installation. Does any of this sound right? Could this be some strange virus? I'm running the newest Nortons.

I'd appreciate any thoughts you may have.

Thanks in advance
