Question No display or POST on new build ?

Hey,

I'm in the middle of building myself a new rig and it's becoming a complete nightmare. At the current moment, everything seems to power up okay, LEDs, etc but there's no display or POST.
Since I have an Asus motherboard, the power is flashing rapidly indicating that the DRAM has an issue. Now I've already swapped the motherboard from a Gigabyte one that also had an LED stating that there was an issue with the DRAM.

So in regard to the RAM I've tried:
  • Reseating the RAM.
  • Trying with 2 and 1 one stick.
  • Making sure it's actually pushed all the way in.
  • Tried different slots.
  • Checked for any damage etc.
  • I've tested with RAM that definitely works in my older system, and that SHOULD be compatible with my new system, but the power LED is throwing the same error.
So far, I've basically swapped the RAM, motherboard, and PSU. Interestingly enough, my old PSU that works doesn't actually power up my system at all but is meant to be compatible too, that's confused me even more.

I've checked the CPU and there's no damage to that I can see, also checked both motherboard pins and they all seem to be in order. For some reason, I don't want to believe it's a CPU issue but I'm guessing it's very possible, and at this stage, it's the last component.
I've given the CMOS a restart just in case but I'm starting to think this is a CPU-related issue despite it being flagged as a RAM one.

Any insight or help at this point would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I may have missed something. The only thing I haven't done so far is flash the BIOS for updates as it should be okay at the moment, but may give it a go.

Specs:

Intel Core i7-13700KF 3.4 GHz 16-Core Processor
Asus PRIME Z790-P D4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4
ADX PSU 650W
Gigabyte 4070 12GB
MSI MAG CORELIQUID 360R V2 360 mm Liquid CPU Cooler - RGB LED
Corsair RGB Fans Triple Pack

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Are the rams populating slots A2 and B2 on the motherboard? You might want to try and relieve some stress from the mount of the CPU's cooler, by doing a couple of anti-clockwise turns for the screws on the 4 posts of the AIO. If that doesn't work, try and inspect the CPU's socket for any bent or broken pins.

If you want to rule out your processor as the root of the issue, drop it into a known working motherboard/platform and see if the issue is reciprocated. If so, then you have your culprit.

Thank you!
So yeah, unfortunately, tried all those but nothing seems to have done the trick!

I'll have to try and get another CPU tested I suppose

So for anybody interested in this, the only components I haven't replaced are the CPU and its cooler. I'm going to double-check my cooler is 100% set up correctly and then go ahead and replace the CPU.

If replacing the CPU doesn't work, then what the hell.
