Question No display, VGA light flashes briefly and then forces a restart ?

My compter started having this issue a few days ago. When I turn it on after shutting down, there's no display. The computer will stay on for about a minute, then the VGA alert light on the motherboard flashes on for a second before the computer forces a restart. The first two times it happened, if I forced a restart 4-5 times instead of letting the motherboard do it, it eventally started up normally. This morning that's not working. This problem didn't occur when waking from sleep.

Troubleshooting I've tried:

• Reset the CMOS
• Tested my GPU in a different computer - it worked
• Tested a different GPU in my computer - same problem
• Replaced the PSU

I'm afraid by process of elimination here that it's the motherboard or CPU.

Update: It was my motherboard. In case anyone has this same issue in the future.

Unfortunately the only other PSU I have access to is under the wattage needed to run the GPU. I think I'm going to order another PSU, it seems like the most likely culprit.

None, I didn't think the memory could be the problem. Do you have any recommendations?

If running multiple sticks, try running each stick on its own.

At least you got to the bottom of the issue, hopefully you will be able to replace it and all should be well.
