Im not having the traditional shutdown, then restart syndrome that everybody else is experencing. When I shutdown I get a black screen with the XP logo, and it says " It is now safe to shut off your computer" so to turn it off I have to push the button on the computer. Feels like AT all over again. Thanks.

Could be a couple of things, maybe when you installed xp, acpi wasnt enabled in bios or maybe the board isnt 100% acpii compliant. Go to device manager and then click the + by computer, I'll bet it says standard pc as against acpi pc.

If they squeeze olives to get olive oil, how do they get baby oil?
