Nvidia CEO: Apple Uses the Best Technology

Wow, somebody just got paid truckfulls of money from Apple. Any self respecting person who say they want the best in their PC just build it themselves.

This is a joke right? I mean the man cant even sell mac users GPUs since to upgrade their system (if they dont want to buy a new one)they would void their warrantee. He has no market he is pitching this too. And Nvidia's die hard fans (gamers) will look at this as the end of an era. The era they spent buying Nvidia products. This stinks of him getting bought, probably with the chipset bussiness for the itablet we keep hearing about. Especially since they cant make any chipsets anymore for any recent technology.

There maybe a loophole here I'm not aware of, such as could it be that apple has a license to make and produce chipsets for i7 and if Nvidia gets in bed with them, they can combine that ip in an apple lab and you can then get an Nvidia IGP with intel QPI. That maybe the real motivation here but I'm no expert so dont quote me on it.

How can this Nvidia guy say that? Okay... what top games can run on a MAC? The PC gaming world is already suffering and Mac has almost nothing.

Besides that most MACs (iMac) aren't even upgradable. So how does HE play games with his GTX 295 on a Mac?!

From the Apple website (today)in regards to their iMac 21 & 27" models: "If you want even speedier graphics, choose an iMac with a more advanced ATI graphics processor." (The GF 9400 is default - but they can upgrade to a 4600 or 4800 series.)

And here are MacPro's video options:
ATI Radeon HD 4870 with 512MB GDDR5 ($200 add)
Two NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 ($150)
Three NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 ($300)
Four NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 ($450)

Wow! Stick in 2~4 bottom end GeForce cards?

In case you guys don't know... the GT120 is a re-named 9500GT (no faster than a 8600GT).

The 9500GT is 1/4 ~ 1/5 the ability of a single ATI 4870 card.

So some idiots are spending $450 to have the graphic ability of a $100 ATI 4850 card. Considering the overhead losses of SLI which is proven over and over again that using more than 2 cards reduces it returns.

Yeah Apple and Nvidia... really bloody impressive!!

Suck up 4 PCIe slots to have worse performance than your rip-off $200 4870!

I have and use both Mac and PC. Apple uses high quality parts in their computers but I hardly think they use the best technology available. In fact, I know this. You would think the CEO of Nvidia would know this as well?

Sorry the PC's I build for myself and friends have much better technology for a hell of alot cheaper and I dont cost a fortune for tech support lol.

HAHAHA, I was wondering who would be the first company to jump all over the Intel bribing companies to use their hardware OR ELSE!!!

You are damn right Apply wants to differentiate their products! This Intel monopoly and publicity that they basically CONTROLLED computer companies is going to look bad for the companies who took the bribe or deal so much with Intel. Apple was all for Intel and Apple NOW wants to differentiate...I wonder when DELL, HP, Gateway will start moving in this same pattern as Apple?

Sidenote of frustrations: Intel is Cuomo's bitch now! ;-) ...Maybe after Intel pays some billions of dollars in fines...New York could get some of that billions and take the 60+ SCUMBAG PROGRAMS AVAILABLE and turn it into lets say 60+ MORE PROGRAMS to make sure that all losers in New York live like upper middle-class!...Now that bottled water and soda are taxed and the re-buying of your license plates is also taking effect in New York, I'm waiting for the charging of the air that I breathe...it is either going to be Microsucks, Intel or New York...I can't wait to find out who! 😛

Hmmmm, Apply sells only Intel processors...anybody else think Apple is one who accepted bribes or received SOME kind of incentives? Nvidia seems to be taking over that practice against AMD/ATI as well...sad thing is Nvidia is not the dominant chipset or chipset powerhouse so how can they say that Apple wants only the best?
