You've done a superb job though. Thank you so very much.

i'm looking for that one as well myself. hoping it is out soon. i got a few clients waiting on one for a small case build. should be perfect for a small living room pc that games like a beast.

lol semiaccurate :pt1cable:

If the price is good in the UK, and the performance is really good at 1440p, might just sell off my GTX 780 and grab one.

It's a good idea. Isn't that amazing how a $250 graphics card is now 2x faster than a top of the line kepler GPU.

Yeah, with double the vram and half the power consumption too!

While that is true, the 1060 is rumored to be £220. The 1070 is £380.

I'm happy with the performance of my 780, but I know I can still sell it for around £150 (A year old MSI 780 Lightning). If I can increase the performance by 30% while reducing power and heat by half for £70, then that's a pretty good deal to me.

I forgot the 780 was still that quick.

I still wonder how much faster the 1060 will be when overclocked past 2Ghz.

I can't wait to get my hands on one later this year. If my GTX 750 ti can already play high settings at 1440P in all my games, I should be able to hit ultra settings, 5k DSR, 80fps on most of my games. Whoo! :)

Yeah that 384-bit memory bus width helps keep it alive. The 6GB variant is still very relevant for a 3-year old GPU which these days is impressive. I would certainly hope so for a $580 variant like MSI's Gaming. It has aged well better than my $520 GTX 680 2GB...that was perhaps the worst "investment" I ever made on a GPU. In less than a year, Nvidia trotted out the $400 770 Kepler refresh. The 970 helped ease that pain though.

ok so question of the day is what is the difference between these 2 cards?

Gigabyte xtreme gaming and xtreme gaming premium pack.

i've read the specs and pages and can't see what the extra add-on is for the "premium" pack. they both come with the vr link and specs are the same. is there someone who can say what the extra bit is you get with the "premium pack". i can't seem to figure it out so am hesitant to give it a separate listing in the models list. the $699 price is from newegg and is actually for the premium pack but i have not seen the regular one for sale anyway.

Defiantly, that 6GB of vram helps...it's now to the point where the 780 ti is less viable than the 6GB 780.

I think the absolute worst investments in graphics cards were the GTX 690 and ESPECIALLY the GTX 590. Poor people who fell for those cards.

The premium pack comes with an HB SLI bridge.

Look at the "Specifications" tab. The Premium Pack comes with some VR goodies.

wow that was a subtle addition i missed everytime i went back and re-read. maybe the "wrist protector" is part of it as well. whatever that is for????

thanks, been killing myself trying to figure out the difference i knew was there somewhere :)

@warmacblu i noticed the vr stuff but that is also in the regular xtreme gaming card. was my first thought as well.

Oh, well the VR stuff isn't listed under the "Specification" tab so maybe they are charging more for nothing?

I can only think of two uses for their wrist protector:

1. protect yourself when installing the GPU so that you don't slit your wrists
2. to ground yourself when installing the GPU (more likely)

Hey I gotta say my GTX 780 Ti has been an awesome investment. Still plugging along at maximum 1080p settings. Of course, I tend to lag behind a bit in my games list, refusing to pay full price on new releases. But Far Cry 4, Borderlands Prequel, Dragon Age Inquisition are all running at full settings and 60 FPS.

yah i noticed that as well. even on a single website there is little standard ways of presenting info. just revisiting links and making sure i have all the cards and specs. been some new cards this week to add in and happened to notice the 2 xtreme entries from gigabyte. at least i know the difference now. if i see the regular one for sale somewhere i'll add it in. right now, the link goes to the premium card and the price is for it as well. so not like that piece does not add up :)

adding the gaming z and a couple others in now that have come out recently.

Oh good....I'm not the only one on the planet who doesn't rush out and spend $50-$60[US] on a new game release. The only exception for me is in racing games like the F1 and NASCAR series. Fortunately there are good guys on early release Beta buys (Assetto Corsa, Project Cars, DiRT Rally cost me $40 vs. their $60 retail release..AC is going to be released in August for the PS4/XBone).

alright you did well on the first question so here is another :)

i can find no power phase info on the zotac amp cards (1070 or 1080) but i did find a teardown of the 1080 card. http://i4.article.fd.zol-img.com.cn/t_w1/g5/M00/06/08/ChMkJldWiqKIQtHYAAPCn094n5QAASXbAALMEwAA8K3214.jpg given this pic of the pcb, how do i count the power phases myself? i see it all the time in reviews but never have asked how they count them? is it all the "a10" modules lined up on the right of the it? or something else? is this standard and something i can count on any pcb pic i find? still a few cards that do not have the info any pr stuff and i'd like to fill in the missing info if i can. so if i can find a pic of the pcb, how do i count the power phases??

i also see them listed as 6+1 or sometimes as just 10 phases. why is it sometimes listed as "x + __" ? and is it different than a simple x phases? or just multiple ways to say the same thing? if the same what are they implying by the "+__" part??

thanks for the super specific and totally competent answers i know i'll be getting :)
