[citation][nom]eddieroolz[/nom]Not sure why everyone is getting hanged up asking for the damn price. Just enjoy the news, whatever it is. The constant whine for "price?" "boring" etc is really getting annoying.[/citation]

The price was posted in a thread on this forum yesterday. Maybe you all should read up people's comments if it is that bothersome. And to above also no it does not cost $800. It costs less.

It will be interesting though to see benchmarks versus ATI and compare the two prices and I agree with above too that the ATI card may very well be cheaper since it has been on the market longer and possibly due for a price drop.

I see Nvidia now doing their typical overhype on the chip. I doubt this will deliver all this insane cool stuff. They have been talking about movie realistic games ever since the Geforce4 and have never delivered. Some games somewhat came close but still do not look as real as they claimed.

[citation][nom]ohim[/nom]this is getting pathetic seriously ... when the radeon 5xxx series were about to come out it was all about what performance those gpu`s will have, from fermi we have shots with boxes and with rulers over the gpu chip itself ... is getting annoying already.[/citation]
Yeah, you would think that a product being unleashed on the public within weeks would have some concrete real-time benchmarks available. You would also assume that nvidia being as proud of the fermi as they claim to be, they would be hitting us with numbers to build excitement and anticipation, instead we have ugly boxes, hair renderings and delay after delay. Odd turn of events if you ask me... Not exactly building much confidence in your consumers.

[citation][nom]scrumworks[/nom]You left out the pics from the same series with burnt cores. There is definitely heat issues:http://en.expreview.com/2010/03/15 [...] /6863.html[/citation]

Ya those GPU's look really BAKED ! Im just curious now to see how HOT these things will get and who will be the first FERMI user to blow his/her's GPU .

This is whathappens when you smoke to much Weed as a kid.
Everyone and there mother now making predictions on Fermi this and Fermi that.
Fact is ......Nvidia screwd the pooch on this Card and everyone knows it.
So now apparently MASSIVE availability on April 6. LOL jesus christ this just gets better every day.

I say by the time Fermi starts to even remotely sell in quantitys , ATI will be releasing the next incarnation of there NEW Gpu

Nate, I have seen ATI slow down to a crawl and get smashed by Nvidia in previous years so this is all speculation. I am biased against ATI but I know what I have seen happen. But I can go on both sides of the fence. Nvidia promises things that the video cards don't ever deliver and ATI makes a power efficient card every once in a while. Now it looks like things are kind of shifting in favor of ATI but I would never buy an ATI product. I do like ATI though because it offers competition, however I feel it would be better if there were more companies making gaming graphics cards like back in the late 1990s. More competition could possibly equate to better prices. There is no way I am going to buy a video card that is over $300 regardless if ATI is cheaper than Nvidia or whatever other variables come into play. My 260 core 216 cost $135 and now the SAME card costs about $210. what the heck... plus u know that companies offer these things with lifetime warranty knowing that people will throw them out every 3-5 years so they got their asses covered.

480 GTX Die Shots
GeForce GTX 480 'Hair' Rendering
GTX 480 Boxed pictures..

This thing is becoming a superstar..

some time in the future , we may have chance to touch it (not sure).

Rooket, While I agree that Nvidia has had the upper hand for a while now in the graphics department I wouldnt say ATI had slown down to a crawl. I don't even know what you mean by smashed in previous years so I wont ask.
Now what I don't understand is your statement such as....

"I am biased against ATI but I know what I have seen happen. But I can go on both sides of the fence. Nvidia promises things that the video cards don't ever deliver and ATI makes a power efficient card every once in a while. Now it looks like things are kind of shifting in favor of ATI but I would never buy an ATI product. "

So you say you are happy ATI is there for Cometition but would never consider buying it simply because ? So if ATI has the best Card for the $200 - $300 price point over Nvida you will buy what , A more expensive Nvidia product ? What am I trying to make you understand is that your logic for saying it is better to have MORE graphic card makers becaus it lowers the price is silly if you will never consider there product.
If you are loyal to 1 Manufactures product then chances are sooner rather then later you will be getting less then 100% bang for your $$ .
Over the last 6 months now anyone purchasing a video Card from Nvidia has not gotten the best deal for there money simply because you are buying a product that is end of life and technology versus a competitors product that is New Tech and supports new standards such as DX11.
That of course is my opinion, everyone can buy whatever they want , its there money. I just see why you would do that. Makes no sense.
As for throwing out your Video card every 3-5 years , well lets just say I find that a little hard to fathom. 3 years would be MAX and that is streching it, even with the TOP of the line at that time. More the 3 years and your Video Card is starting to look REALLY old and most likely slow for any decent gaming. Go back 3 years ago and think of what the top of the line cards were back actually Look here on Toms Hardware ....
Best PCIe Card For ~$540 GeForce 8800 GTX. Now think for a minute, how good would that be today ? Look at the Benchmarks and you get the picture. Could play with a 3 yr old card? hell ya. Can it give you the performance and graphics on par with todays cards ? Never and you'd get a much better card today for a hell of a lot less then what you paid. 3-5 yrs technology is only good for Consoles such as Xbox and Playstation . Toys in my opinion.
Gotta feel for those who purchase these things and think they are far superior to PC gaming. LOL that's whats WRONG with todays youth.
Man, people should really do the research
