This is over priced. I was expecting this board to be the intel version of the Asus Crosshair ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131593 ) same price and features. I guess you do get wifi and a 3rd pci-x 16 slot, but still... seems over priced. Just look at the price of high end boards from the last gen, they are sub 200$ or just barely over 200. I was waiting all summer for Conroe and this board, but I may just end up going with a crosshair and amd.

This is probably a pre-order price. They are making extra money off of pre-orders before the real prices are released. Just a thought...

I would have to agree with you. It may be out of high-price disbelief at this point, but seems that the price is too up for a production board like that. Eek, it'd be nice if it was around $105 - actually, they can charge whatever they want, as long as they give us a discount for being so adamant in our watching. Something like 50% perhaps...

Now that it is out on one retailer's site, it should spread rapidly - as far as I could speculate. When it gets to newegg, it will probably be down a bit. I assume that is also a high release price, like the E6300s - like 250-200 bucks release, now down to 193.

[This is probably a pre-order price.]

It is the pre-order price. Soon though.

Has anyone ordered from this site? Also, after a quick glance, where is the heatsink/fan that was pictured on the reference board? :?

Great forum.

For the 570, tigerdirect had it for sale first before it was availible on asus's site... It seems like asus is leading the nforce 500 pack here, so the fact that DFI isn't releasing to much later I don't think is an indicator....

But the real question for us detectives here, is what does that all mean? 😛

I'm willing to bet the hardware is finished... Didn't Dell say that it was a Bios problem delaying the XPS 700 series? If that is the case, if asus gets a bios that works well enough, do you think they will release the board in atleast short order? They seem very good customer service wise about sending out replacement bios chips and having downloadable bios updates... I think the fact that the 570 is already being sold by them says something... and now the website being updated...

If I were to guess... I'm going to say there will be a asus version by friday...but that is a total and udder guess... so it means almost nothing...

Well I don't know what to think about the Asus 570 status. I received my P5NSLI late Thursday. I took it out of the box and looked it over. Everything looked fine, but for some reason I decided to call ASUS support to verify that I had the latest BIOS supporting my E6400.

Much to my surprise, the tech rep told me there was "NO CORE DUO" support for now, and no scheduled date for release. They transferred me to the RMA dept and I spoke with a supervisor (that could barely speak english) and she had never heard of the product. After a lengthly conversation, she transfered me back to a tech support manager's voice mail. This was around 2PM PST and I haven't heard a word since. It looks like I'm about to get the "big screw job".

Sadly your mobo did support core 2 duo. Just look at the ASus site:

P5NSLI

- Intel® LGA775 Platform
- Intel® Core™2 Extreme / Core™2 Duo Ready
- Intel® Pentium® D / Pentium® 4 / Celeron® D Ready
- Dual-channel DDR2 667/533
- NVIDIA® SLI™ Technology
- ASUS Q-Connector
- ASUS O.C. Profile

They probably thought you had the AMD version. They probably didn't know what they were talking about.

It is easier said than done. I wonder if calling Asus and asking them when it is coming out would work... Probably too simple of a solution anyway, forget I mentioned it. Pretty soon this board is going to start becoming more popular and hitting more retailers. Hopefully soon soon. $300 right now is too much for me, as much as I want it. I could really only get that an the E6300.

Weak, I just realized some hippies are coming to stay in my house for three days before they go somewhere else to some sort of women's retreat camp. I hate all of the above. I hear that they don't let the baby wear diapers, they get a bowl when he looks like pooping. I really don't like hippies. And their hippie babies shitting on my not-hippie couch. I live in a different part of the house, so hopefully I won't have to smell them or hear them too much. Be lucky, all.

They probably thought you had the AMD version. They probably didn't know what they were talking about. Yes, I'm well aware of what the main product page says. I looked at that before I bought the board. However, if you check the supported processor list (which I didn't do before I bought it), there are no Core 2 Duo CPU's listed.

I'm only quoting what ASUS tech support said. I certainly want it to work since I'm sitting here with an E6400 and new rev 2.0 P5NSLI, waiting to start my build. It's just that there's so much uncertainty, I'd like more comfort before I risk my chance for a refund.

More confusion-

Was this an engineering sample or a production board?

I agree. CloakedHunter, I missed the days when you posted things that no one else saw first and you made me all excited and little fuzzy inside but I'm not ghei but still a little fuzzy but not like fuzzy as in fuzzy taint or anything like that because that's just plain nasty but not as nasty as anal leakage which I'm still not sure if you get from Funyuns or if that was just a rumor but I have a friend who eats them constantly and he doesn't have any leakage yet, but maybe he's just not telling anyone because if I had anal leakage I sure would lie about it and not tell a soul but you know what they say is that a problem isn't a problem until you hide it but if you really think about it I'd sure as hell call anal leakage a problem whether anyone knew or not but still, it's good when you post stuff that no one else has seen but don't get creative and go post a pic of a hermaphradyte because that's a little disturbing to look at and I'm not sure if anyone here is one or not and if they are I don't mean to insult them on a personal level or anything but then again I don't find it appealing and it wouldn't have even been something that I haven't seen but don't get the wrong idea and think that I secretly look at hermaphradytes and hide the pictures and delete my history like you do when you are browsing +3h pr0n and see something a little bizzare like a girl taking a giant baseball bat down her throat and you click on it more out of curiosity than anything else but before you know it it is something that you like and didn't know about until now so you sorta develop a fetish about it and keep having to delete the history because your wife uses the computer and you don't want pictures of girls swallowing pictures of baseball bats coming up when she's on MSN or something because your marriage is a little rocky already and something like that might trigger a fight which would put you on the couch which would leave you to be found by your kids in the morning who ask why you're on the couch and you say "Mommy and I hate a little fight" and they cry and run away screaming that you are going to get a divorce and you don't love them anymore so then you get a little depressed and take some medication you have left over from when your manically depressed uncle stayed with you a few weeks back and you start to see some weird stuff that doesn't really exist like little men and things that look a little ghei and you can't tear your eyes away because they are controlling you and they start to take off your clothing and then you wake up...
