The ATI RD600? Hell No! Is like saying you can use a Conroe on a AMD AM2....

ATI RD600 and any other ATI board will only support Crossfire (1 Crossfire ready videocard and any other as slave)

Now lastest Intel boards come with Crossfire support, but people want SLI too so thats why we are here so desesperate about the 590

I dont like anything related to "Hacking or Modifying Hardware"

Im not in that and I hope my mind never tells me so, cuz I dont wanna end messing up a board just because I wasnt smart enough to buy the right board with the specs I wanted.

Modding or using hacked firmware is just another personal preference, very similar to overclocking. To some, overclocking is criminal, to others, it is merely performance tweaking the hardware you paid money for to own.

If dude wants to overclock, let him, it's his right and it will get him more performance. If dude wants to mod a board, let him, it's his right and it will get him closer to what he wants out of it.

If dude doesn't fancy it, than by all means, let dude enjoy his stock firmwares.

But I do kind of want some food right about now, and there is no one to mod my microwave into making better food, so I guess I have to go upstairs and use the stove.

.:EDIT:.
On second thought, could someone PLEASE release a hacked firmware for my microwave? It's a long way up and my arm is hurting. Much appreciation. (Maybe just a BIOS mod?)

kinda creepy, it's like the silence before the storm.

yeah I was wondering where I could get a cooling system for my microwave, i overclocked it 250%.

Dude how? After some calculation...

Hot-pocket = 2 minutes cook time
Overclock 250% = 48 seconds cook time

Mm, savory cheesy goodness in a minute flat. (Must let it cool, you see?)

Actually, maybe if you watercooled the hotpocket you could cut the cooling time by 250% as well, leaving you to a cooling time of about 8 seconds?

Hell yeah, overclocked microwaves and watercooled hot pockets for the win.

(That momentarily made me forget about the board.)
((Just kidding :? ))

.:EDIT:.
Oh, up the multiplier in the voltanence capacitor by a factor of three, then clear the MMOS, mess with the vMore a little, and you have it. No more dumb questions. 😀

Hi fellow 590 lovers. I've been waiting for this board for about 3 weeks now >_< I hope I can troll this thread as well as some of you do.

Hey, do you think that the delayof 590sli is related to some issues of quad sli? maybe they just need some extra time to make those boards perfect for quad sli?

I would have to think a majority of the performance and stability of Q-SLI would have to do with the Forceware drivers. If nVidia was planning some optimizations with their new chipset in reguards to SLI I think we'd already see it on the AM2 boards that are readily available.

Like Division said, Quad-SLI is related to driver problems, I believe is taking long because of stability and perfomance for the board. Same as the ATI RD600, overclocking stability is what is taking long for the ATI RD600 to be delayed.

Lets just hope that we get a good performer board. Keep an eye on the NVIDIA site FAQ and THG and Anandtech.

One more thing before leaving, I heard at the beggining of the topic that some guy said that he contacted ASUS and they told him that they were working "hardly" on the BIOS file. Now the BIOS file is on the ASUS site since many days ago.

FOR ME THE MOST REASONABLE PROBLEM BECAUSE OF THIS DELAY IS THAT ASUS DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH QUANTITIES AND DOESNT WANT TO HAVE THE SAME STORY AS CONROE.

Meh... I wouldn't mind. Just start selling them, then we'd at least know if it was worth waiting for or not. I'll camp newegg for one of them. I hope they aren't waiting because OC'ing the board makes it unstable. You can OC anything enough to make it unstable. I think it's nice they take these things into consideration, but I don't know if they should hold the board, because a few people who want to OC the board won't be able to. Just my 2 cents though.

One piece of good news to come out of all this waiting: The price of the C2E is coming down. $1119 on New Egg. Remember when it was $1249? For you guys who are like me (waiting for the board before purchasing the cpu) this is good news.

By the time the new board gets here the cpu will be cheap!

Thought I was going to have to tell my Old Bull/Young Bull joke for a day or two, thank god I don't have to.

Well those are good news, still price is over +1000, my budget is not enough to waste that only on a CPU

so anyways I believe they will drop the price to $999 in 1 month cuz of kentsfield.

I'm more than ready for an upgrade, as you can see the last time I upgraded has been about 4 years ago. Boy has the techonology advanced. Pretty anxious too. Was going with the new 7950 GPU too but, after hearing about Direct X10 my buckaroos will hold off until they are available.

Hopefully it'll be another 4 years before I have to upgrade again. What do you suppose we'll be looking at then?

This is my second build, perhaps I am a little more advanced this time around. But, hold on to your shorts cuz I'm almost positive there will still be some questions.

If I ask for help in advance does that count as anything? If I don't need any help, does that count for anything? I'm gonna have to tell that lame joke soon

If you gonna make a BIG STEP, then make sure you make the RIGHT STEP.

if you want to have a great system, spend the amount of money you know will make your system last. Now im not saying become homeless just because you bought a high-end pc.

ok finally talked to someone at Asus who actually knew what I was talking about. I asked when the intel 590 Asus motherboards were going to be released and he said the intel 590 chipset right? So I said yeah. It took about 2 minutes, must have been looking it up, but then he said the info wasn't available to them.....ugh.

Also here is the number I called. 502-995-0883 (select option 4, pre-sales)

Everyone needs to call this. Maybe after enough calls they'll give out some friggin info.

Thanks

Paul

Well I found this blub over at Anandtech:
http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=29&threadid=1919842&enterthread=y

If thats true, we got another 2+ weeks before the board hits the shelves.
That's appreciated information. I spoke once again with Brian at Asus Sales/Marketing. It seems the last time I spoke with him about the P5N32-SLI Premium (when he informed me that it had already shipped), he was mistaken in that he thought I was referencing the SE Deluxe version. However, when I spoke with him this time, I was informed that the P5N32-SLI "Premium" is currently unavailable and is expected to be released around "the end of September--maybe sooner." This seems to agree with the few pieces of other information we've been receiving lately.

An another note, is anyone currently able to find stock anywhere for the Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-6400C3 memory with the CAS latency of 3? It seems to be backordered everwhere I've looked, including distributors, and it seems NewEgg has now completely removed the item from their site. Any insight on this would certainly be appreciated. That's the only other item I need in addition to this board. My Core 2 Extreme is getting rather lonely...

Heh... that number won't get you information, even pre-sales. You'll need to speak with marketing.

Ok, that's it, I'm not waiting any longer. I saw RAM prices are expected to go up so I went ahead and bought the DDR2 800 ram, but this is too much, I haven't had a computer to play with for the past 3 months and it's too much.

Give me some suggestions for current "the best" Core 2 Duo mobo's available now. And if it's an intel bios can someone provide a link for a good site that talks about the SLI hack?

i am also looking for the TWIN2X2048-6400C3 i read somewher that corsair will be shiping out on the sept 1st so hopfuly we will see it around soon but i also found out that the new ram the dominator ram by corsair is suposed to ship within the next few weeks also not sure exactly witch one i am going to get gess i will see what is around when the mobo comes out. shoting fro the dominator ram the 8888C4 looks cool the with 1,111 speed and with the 590 sli mobo will be great. on the downside the ram is going to be 600-650 but oh well cash is easy come easy go.

I saw that too, but the board only supports up to 800MHz, so unless I'm wrong (if so, please correct me), the 6400C3 would be faster with this board.
