[SOLVED] Nvme not reading

looking for help

Toshiba Satellite P55w-c5200x

just got this adapter to use the Nvme 960 I have .
SYBA SY-ADA40087 Driverless 2.5" SATA III to M.2 SSD Adapter

the laptop does not see it. Can I have help. Trying to use this adapter on this laptop.
Bios version 5 is in the Toshiba.

3 things & 1 conclusion.

1:Your laptop does not support NVME drives.
2: You cannot convert an M2 Sata slot into an M2 NVME slot.
3: M2 Sata is the same Sata drive as the 2.5" version just in a different form.

- so just return the drive you have and get a normal Sata SSD that plugs right in.

A SATA adapter or enclosure simply will not work! Try an enclosure with USB3.0 to PCI-E/NVMe capabilities - those run $25-40 vs the cheaper SATA ones

That adapter is compatible with sata M.2 drives only (not with nvme M.2).
Return 960 drive and
get 2.5" samsung 860 evo or crucial mx500 drive.
