Motherboard #1:
MSI H310
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/H310M-GAMING-ARCTIC/Specification
" Support up to PCIe 2.0 x4 and SATA 6Gb/s"

Motherboard #2:
Asus Prime H310
"1 x M.2 Socket 3, , with M Key, type 2242/2260/2280 storage devices support (both SATA & x2 PCIE mode) "

Yes, that PCIe x2 drive will work for those boards. Being PCIe x2, nothing magical.

If this is going to be all new parts, why build with older tech?
And don't get starry eyed over the uber benchmark speeds of an NVMe drive. That speed is often unnoticeable in regular use.

Thanks! Actually I’m finding a newer motherboard within the budget, but can’t find one.
