I have an odd memory issue. using HWINFO64, I get that there are 3 different types of RAM in place, each 2GB

Row 0 - 2GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM Samsung M378B5773DH0-CH9
Row 1 - 2GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM Kingston KY996D-ELD
Row 2 - 2GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM Crucial Technology CT25664BA1339.C8F1
Row 3 - 2GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM Samsung M378B5773DH0-CH9

When I get into Performance, it's indicated 5.6GB in use and 2.3GB available, and that it's 1333Mhz.

Row 2 shouldn't be there, right?

I plan on replacing it all with two 8GB sticks, just wanting to learn and get some thoughts. Thanks.

Make and model motherboard?

Check the applicable motherboard User Guide/Manual.

The User Guide should provide some listing of supported RAM and RAM configurations. And you should visit the motherboard's manufacturer's website for any updated information.

Some motherboards require that the first physically installed RAM be placed in a specific slot. That matters.

In this case the main concern being that the modules are not matched - all should be identical not only in specs but being purchased as a matched set.

Not sure about the reference to Row 2 "shouldn't be there".

However, if I have correctly understood your post the RAM will only perform at the speed of the slowest module.

Even if "Row 2" is replaced there will still not be matched RAM and performance will degrade.

The requirement being as 2 X 8 GB RAM with matched modules for dual channel use.

Again: Reference the motherboard's User Guide/Manual.

And be sure that you are at the manufacturer's website. Just because manufacturer X appears in the URL does not mean that you are at the real manufacturer's website.

I found the service manual online for the motherboard (Dell 0D441T )

It indicates the following:

Memory
Type DDR3 SDRAM (non-ECC memory only)
Speed 1066 MHz or 1333 MHz
Connectors four
Capacity 1 GB, 2 GB, or 4 GB
Minimum memory 1 GB
Maximum memory 16 GB

So, it looks like if I want to get to 16GB, I need to use four 4GB sticks. It doesn't indicate voltage, but there appears to be 1.5 and 1.35V.. does it matter (I assume it does, but checking just in case).

I also found an odd thread about someone trying to input 4 x 4GB of RAM that meet the above specs, but it doesn't work in the motherboard, but does work in other computers, indicating it needed to be 1.35V and 1600Mhz to get to 16GB and also needing to be 2R...

Go here and run the scanner see what it shows.

Thanks.. Yes, that is my PC. How does one know if the ram should be 1.35v or 1.5v on the motherboard? They make both voltages of Ram.

Oh, you've been a huge help. Since the manual doesn't call for PCL and just PC, I will assume that it needs 1.5V ram. I believe PCL is for low voltage, according to Google and that would be 1.35.

I installed four 4GB Ram Sticks of PC 1333, 1.5v, 2R, and my computer is working great!
