Hello! To be upfront I have no idea what I am doing so would really appreciate some help troubleshooting.
I will try to be clear and give as much info as possible but please let me know if I need to add any more info.
(Please don't mind my messy desk)
Short version of the issue: My screen is flickering. But only my main monitor and only when hooked up to my new laptop. My PC and my old laptop had no issues. This happens whether duplicated or extended in settings.
Longer version and details:
I don't know where to begin troubleshooting so figured I would look here for advice.
I recently bought a KVM switch for 3 monitors to 2 computers, and everything was working perfectly! Until I got this new laptop.
The previous laptop was an Alienware whilst this is a regular dell. Though the new laptop is much more powerful. Can try and give more details if needed.
My setup as of now has 3 monitors, my main one is a 2k 144hz ( the flickering one) and the other two are 1080 60hz's. All of them are LG. Two of them are display port connections whilst the last is hdmi (one of the 1080s).
I have them all plugged into my new KVM, and for the laptop it goes into a Dell hub (you might be able to see it in the picture behind the nanolego castle).
This hub connects to the laptop via type C lightning cable.
Everything seems to work fine other than the screen is flickering.
If anyone has any advice or ideas, I'd appreciate it. I intend to try getting a separate power cord from the dock, but just haven't had an opportunity to snag one yet.
