Hi, I recently purchased a Kingston UV500 120gb SATA 6B/s which advertises speeds of up too 520mb/s read and 500mb/s write and I’m only getting 280mb/s read and 200mb/s read I’m wondering if SATA 3GB/S is half the speed and I’m also wondering if my mother board (ASUS A58M-E) only supports SATA 3GB/s. What’s my problem?

In the “This PC” section I have two individual drives C:Drive and D:Drive. They’re individual and I’m wondering if they’re meant to be combined, they’re two different drives a seagate barracuda 2 tb and a Kingston uv500 120gb

Oh, so you only combine SSD and SSD? If I had 2 SSD and put them in a pool would it be double the performance? Sorry for asking loads of questions, I’m just not very good with hard drives

Thanks for all the help - this is completely random but I’m getting a new pc build and wondering if all Ryzen processors are integrated and if they are, can I use a separate graphics card such as a RX 570 or is it more benefit is just to use it integrated

Only the G model Ryzens have integrated, ie 2200g. So the video ports on the motherboard wont work without a processor with igpu.

Can run a graphics card with any processor, igpu isn't a limiting factor. People go for Ryzens without igpus because they're often more powerful. ie 1600/1600x 2600/2600x, 2700/2700x are faster and have more cores.

Ok fair enough then.
I’m gonna get:
Ryzen 5 1600
An MSI AM4 motherboard maybe tomahawk
Amd rx580 or 570 graphics
16gb ddr4 ram

I just need to think about case and power supply what do you think

Do they sound like good specs?

I'd say this is an excellent combination.

R5 1600 is still relevant with 6 cores and you'll rack up some some savings getting it vs. a 2600. Getting a solid B450 board will let you move up to a 3000 series CPU later on, if you feel you need it. And the RX580 choice provides solid value for 1080p gaming. I wouldn't expect to do 4k gaming unless you dial back the detail...1440 is also doable on high details, depending on the title.

You might, however, consider dropping to 8gb memory to save some more. Not many game titles really need 16gb yet, but that also depends on whatever productivity apps and their memory demands are.
