This is alittle old: http://www.tbreak.ae/features/tomb-raiders-tressfx-performance-amd-vs-nvidia
But it does work on both cards. The better compute performance of AMD cards really makes it shine though.

There's no lockout, AMD are free to get a licence from Nvidia they just choose not to because their user base doesn't want or need PhysX according to Richard Huddy, who has since left AMD.

The fact that Physx disables itself when an AMD card is present is a lockout IMO

Either this means that TressFX is VERY reliant on GCN, or I don't trust this article.

That's only because you refuse to acknowledge how the situation came to be IMHO.

Well once the accuracy of the article is in question I normally disregard ALL it says.

It's irrelevant. A license is only required for it to actually run on AMD hardware.
NVidia making their hardware not work just because a piece of competitors HW is in the same system is just plain stupid.

So no licence no run that's the point of a licence, restrictions. AMD don't want a licence so they get restricted (along with their user base), welcome to the real world.

Latest rumor: Intel's next gen cards will be late 2014...! Remember the old 8800GT>9800GT, etc re-branding of a chip 5 times?

AMD is in the latest consoles... New graphics cards are weeks away.... hmmm.

Cards or CPU's?

Origin PC Who?....F!!! These guys! Bunch of pussys or should I say "Originas". Plenty of custome build sites out there with AMD options if you don't build it yourself. Origina will be worse off than AMD.

Well this is interesting 😀 .Since you guys like conspiracy theory much how come anyone still not comimg out about this might be Origin and AMD are actually in this together to make nvidia look bad? I mean if origin really want to drop AMD gpu why they make noise right now and suddenly make nvidia look bad? If nvidia really have their hands on this they will not making this silly mistake which is allowing Origin to announce their intention to drop amd gpu just after receiving Battlebox contract from nvidia and in time when amd new flagship to be released. It is much wiser to tell Origin to be quiet about it and only reveal it when customer actually asking why they did not offering amd latest flagship. So amd and Origin do it the smart way. Let Origin accept the battlebox contract from nvidia and wait for the right time to drop the bomb. And when they did most people will suspecting fishy about it since Origin just to be one of the company that included in nvidia battlebox program that announced recently. Nvidia can't accuse Origin since it's amd gpu that being dropped and Origin happens to be nvidia partner in battlebox program. A few months later Origin will start including AMD gpu again because of customer request. At the same time they will say good things about AMD how AMD actually want to work closely with them to solve the problem.

I know it's crazy :kaola:

LOL well its possible, but history tends to repeat itself, and Nvidia has done similar before.

It makes more sense than CharLIE's rants that's for sure!

Actually it makes absolutely zero sense.

Well CharLIE doesn't bother speaking to the parties concerned before publishing an article which the party faithful swallow as "fact" so renz496's post has just as much veracity IMO.

Neither really has any merit (the website is called "semiaccurate" LOL). Extreme extrapolation rather than fact.
But NVidia paying off origin sure seems more likely

I love the way you presume guilt until proven innocent.
