OVERCLOCKING DDR400 TO 533

Is it possible to reliably overclock ddr400 dram to 533 by installing memory with the fastest available timings and setting bios timings to the slowest values. Bios will set CS latency to 2t, 2.5t or 3t. DRAM Addr/Cmd rate will set at Auto, 1t or 2t. CPU is 2.8ghz P4 fsb 533 running at only 400. Bios only has two settings for fsb of 400 or 533. Board will only take DDR SDRAM. Thanks in advance.

depends on the memory, some will, some won't

i have kingston hyperx ddr400 2-2-2-5 and i can OC it to ddr533 3-3-3-6
actually, a little higher

though, i don't know how much performance you would see out of doing that anyways

Mindless, thanks for the very informative reply. Unfortunately, my mobo died in the interim and the machine is too obsolete to save.
